Copywriter

I was tasked with developing an internal tone and style, which I effectively did; in conjunction, I created a 100+ page style guide. In the day-to-day, I wrote, copyedited and proofread internal communications for the ALDI employee audience, which included scripts, letters, news posts, e-blasts and talking points. The work involved projects by both our Internal Communications department and various business partners, all of which were to align with the IC tone and style, company brand, AP style and intended message. In addition to creating and editing content, I proofread and copyedited preexisting materials from business partners and leadership.

Each project centered on storytelling and required collaboration, a focus on effective communication, a commitment to employee engagement and a high attention to detail.

Creative Associate Account Manager

I worked as an account manager of digital and print projects in the Ace Creative Team at Ace Hardware Corporation. This position entailed stewarding the Ace brand while delivering quality creative assets on time, to the satisfaction of the department and within style guidelines. I served as a liaison between several groups: corporate stakeholders, print company members, client service managers and designers. In the process, I acted as an advocate and point person in a hybrid position—in which I both outputted work and responded to incoming work.

Each day, I wore many hats: from synthesizing arriving information to hosting meetings to managing timelines, from annotating proofs to submitting revisions to disseminating creative assets—all until project finalization. The nature of the role and work was fluid. No two days looked the same, and each required me to show up ready to respond to anything, whether that was a change in timing, an emergency project or a file setup issue.

A balance of diplomacy and personability, professionalism and avidity was required to effectively manage both corporate departmental relationships and day-to-day project details. That balance was achieved by maintaining a big picture view, keeping a keen attention to detail, balancing changing priorities and prioritizing fulfillment of departmental requests. A stakeholder-first philosophy was at the heart of this job. To accomplish varying tasks, I regularly worked in Monday.com, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Microsoft Office and Outlook. I also trained in a tool being onboarded: Wrike.

iBiola Reporter Intern

I was part of an internship during fall 2018 in which I formed five articles and news briefs for Biola News and the Cook School of Intercultural Studies News & Events Page. These processes involved research, interviews and edits.

Communications and Editorial Intern at Harvest Bible Chapel

During the summer of 2018, I was a communications and editorial intern at Harvest Bible Chapel and Walk in the Word. For the communications department, I was involved with gathering content and writing for social media posts, analyzing and isolating data and forming a marketing plan. For Walk in the Word, I copyedited and worked on a project in which I researched for and edited pieces in a tour book for a forthcoming trip.

The Point 2017-18 Editor-in-Chief

I was the editor-in-chief of Biola University’s student-run magazine, The Point. During this time, I managed a staff of 20+ over the course of two semesters—including senior staff, story editors, writers, designers and photographers—coordinated schedules, led meetings, edited articles, arranged logistics of the printing process and saw two magazines produced.
